About Tomoko
As the owner, chef, and tea party coordinator, I bring a unique blend of international experience and passion to every event. My culinary journey began with a degree in Baltimore, followed by a distinguished tenure at The InterContinental Hotel Yokohama in Japan, where I mastered the arts of professional baking and global cuisine. After returning to the U.S. in 2001, I spent over two decades refining my craft in Cincinnati’s premier country clubs, restaurants, and catering businesses. Most recently, I had the honor of serving as the first Japanese woman Executive Chef for a prestigious private membership club in downtown Cincinnati.
In 2023, I transitioned from the corporate kitchen to pursue my lifelong dream of entrepreneurship. Through The Afternoon Tea Club, I combine my professional expertise with my love for the fine arts—drawing inspiration from painting, music, and travel—to create truly unforgettable tea experiences.
